Kathleen "Mickey" E. Cassidy

Kathleen "Mickey" Carroll Cassidy, age 79, of Hackettstown, NJ, died on Sunday, February 12, 2017, surrounded by loving family. Mickey was born on March 24, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and Mary Carroll. In addition to her parents, Mickey is preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta Dalton and Mary Hunt and loving granddaughter, Christina Elise Cassidy.  

Mickey was a long time resident of Hackettstown moving here in 1967. Mickey was devoted to God and family. She was an active parishioner at Saint Mary's Church of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, the PTA and supporter of many other local activities her children participated in over the years.

Mickey made the most of every day always finding a reason to laugh and her life was filled with more joy than tears.  She was a loyal and supportive friend always up for an evening of bingo or a trip to Atlantic City.  She was remarkably lucky and her motto was "Seize the day!"

Mickey is survived by her loving husband, Francis Cassidy, her sons, Kevin Cassidy and wife Helen, Timothy Cassidy and wife Sarah, Matthew Cassidy and wife Vanessa, her daughters, Kathleen Cassidy and Kelly Cassidy and husband Kaha, her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin Cassidy and Sullivan Cassidy, a sister-in-law, Irene Cassidy Sullivan along with many nephews and nieces.

Viewing hours will be Thursday, February 16th, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mary's Church of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 
302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ  on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

My prayers go out to the Cassidy family. I am so sorry! The times I spent with Mrs. Cassidy was always filled with fun and laughter! From what I experienced, she loved her family so much and enjoyed hanging out with theirs friends. She always had the cutest smile ! I am grateful that I got to spend some time with her. I am so sorry to hear of Mrs Cassidy's passing. I have many fond memories of her during my high school years. A friend of Kathleen's I spent quite a bit of time at their home. My thoughts are with the whole family.

I am truly sorry to hear about Mrs. Cassidy's passing. She was a a staple on Seymour Road. I have such wonderful memories of her and playing with Kathleen and Kelly. My heart goes out to her family.
