Occupation: Charles began working with his father who had begun a business in real estate and he brought the insurance business to that business. He continued the real estate brokerage until 1995 and sold the insurance business in 1973.

Additional Information:  Charles went to a one room school in Beattystown, NJ. He graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1927 and in 1930 graduated from Churchman Business College. He lived along the musconetcong river adjacent to Newburgh Road where his father owned and operated a grist mill and produced buckwheat flour. The location was near where both his mother and father grew up on nearby farms. This was around 1913. There are numerous business and civic organizations with which he was associated and following are a few of them: Director of Franklin Mutual Ins. Co.; Director of Fidelity Mohawk Ins. Co.; Director of Hackettstown National Bank; Chairman of Hackettstown Industrial Commission; President of Washington Twp. Board of Education; Board of directors Sussex North Warren Girl Scout Council; Rotary Club in Hackettstown-First full term president; Hackettstown Chamber of Commerce; Ruling Elder of Presbyterian Church; Independence Lodge # 42 Free and Accepted Masons from 1936; 25 years as teacher and superintendent of the Presbyterian Church Sunday School.
