Dennis Patrick Doner, age 73, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of
Hackettstown, NJ died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Mr. Doner was born on March 17, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late James and Bernadette Doner. He was a graduate of St. Francis Prep High School in Brooklyn where he was a talented swimmer. He later coached a girl’s high school swim team. He attended Brooklyn College before he began his career as a surveyor. He continued his career in the construction industry, and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed coaching various sports with his children’s teams as they were growing up and helped create the bylaws for the parent association for the Hackettstown Hurricane Swim Team. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church where he was active in building the church Community Center. He also worked on the construction of the Panther Valley community in Allamuchy, NJ. Dennis was an avid New York Giants fan, loved football and was thrilled to have attended three Super Bowls. For the past several years he was a member of the Sun City Hilton Head Woodworkers club where he enjoyed creating treasures for his children and grandchildren. Mr. Doner is survived by his loving wife of 20 years,Melba C. Doner; children, Lenore Fleischer (Robert), Denise Wall(Richard), Dana Hare (Stephen), and Dennis P. Doner, Jr.; their mother, Elizabeth Payne; 2 sisters; and grandchildren, Grace, Sydney, Brendan, Olivia, Hayden, Ryan, Kyle, and Julia. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Long Valley on September 1, 2018 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation, the family has set up a fund in Dennis' memory to benefit the woodworking club in his community, Sun City, that was such a big part of his life in South Carolina. This fund will go toward an expansion of the wood shop facility that will take place over the next 1-2 years. Dennis’ name will be included in the ‘Memoriam’ space, which he would have loved. Marilyn J. Paul, age 95, of Hackettstown died Monday, August 13, 2018 at House Of The Good Shepherd in Hackettstown, N.J.. Marilyn was born October 9, 1922 in Newton, NJ. She was the daughter of the late John and the late Reba (Gynung) Chamberlain. She was also pre deceased in death by her husband William H. Paul Sr.
She is survived by four sons, Delmar A. Paul, John H. Paul, Sr., Charles E Paul Sr., William H. Paul Jr., and two daughters, Reba L. Paul, and Janice E. Strowbridge. Joseph J. Rogers, 82 of Mansfield Township, NJ died Saturday August 11th at home with his family at his side. Joe was born in Easton, PA a son of the late John Howard O’Malley Rogers and Kathleen Daley Rogers. He is a graduate of Easton Catholic High School, East Stroudsburg State Collage where he earned his BA and Seton Hall University where he received his Master’s degree in school administration.
He began his teaching career at Franklin Twp. School in Warren County where he taught 7th grade. Joe moved on to Ridgefield High School where he taught 7th grade Social Studies and then to Ironia School in Randolph Twp., NJ where he taught 6th grade and was the Assistant Principal from 1968 to 1980. He moved back to the classroom at the Center Grove School in Randolph Twp. where he taught until his retirement in 1994. Joe served in the US Naval Reserve 1954-1958 and then in the US Army 1958-1961 He is a 52 year member of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Schooleys Mountain, NJ. He served as a member of the Mansfield Township Board of Education and also served a term on the Township Committee. He was a member of the NJEA and is a member of the New Jersey Retired Teachers Association. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by 3 siblings, Janice Rogers, Kathleen “Jeanne” Morrone and John Howard Rogers. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara (nee Brattain) Rogers a son, Joseph J. Rogers, Jr., 2 daughters, Donna McPhillips, Laurie Kennedy and her husband Michael, a brother James Rogers and his beloved grandchildren, Olivia Kennedy, Megan McPhillips, Nicholas Kennedy, Grace Kennedy and Sean McPhillips. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday August 16th at 11 am at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, 2 East Springtown Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853 , Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ. Judith M. Melbarde, age 71 died Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Kindred Hospital. Judith was born August 30, 1946 in Newton, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Dalson and the late Marjory (Kimble) Smith.

It is with great sadness that the family of Ellen May Parisi announces her passing at the age of
55 on Sunday, July 29th surrounded by her loving family. She courageously battled breast cancer for 8-1/2 years. Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tom of 20 years, three children Heather Trudgeon, Kaitlin Trudgeon, Trevor Parisi, granddaughter Lilly Ellen Curran, parents Gilbert and Patricia May, three siblings Karen Daley, Glenn May, and Kelly Orr, brothers and sister in-law Pat, Chris, and Donna Parisi. Nieces and nephews James Daley, Thomas Daley, Riley Orr, Bryant Orr, Gabrielle Orr, Brendan Parisi. Ellen is predeceased by father and mother in-law Pat and Marion Parisi and nephew Patrick Parisi. Ellen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active in the food pantry ministry. She volunteered with the Independence Field of Dreams as well as the Independence Parks and Recreation.
