Joseph Michael Luteran, 72, of Andover Township, NJ died on August 23, 2013 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ. Born on June 26, 1941 in Stanhope, NJ to the late George and Anna (Stankosh) Luteran.
Joseph attended Netcong High School, Netcong, NJ. He was a construction worker with Salmon Brothers Construction, Stanhope, NJ; he enjoyed basketball and trips to Atlantic City, NJ.
Joseph is survived by five sisters, Anna Bardi, Saratoga Spring, NY; Vera Burton, Rockaway Township, NJ; Elizabeth Tynan, Hackettstown, NJ; Frances Bachert, Cocoa, FL and Dorothy Whitehead, Cincinnatus, NY; one brother, Adam Luteran, Belvidere, NJ; twenty nephews and nieces and many great nephews and nieces; he was predeceased by two brothers, George and Lewis Luteran and a very dear sister Barbara (Feb. 16, 2013).

We are very sorry to hear about the loss of Joe. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad time. I grew up with him all my life in Stanhope. he lived next door to my late aunt Rosetta Tiejan. he will be missed.

I especially recall Joe in my Math classes. He was so smart and would tease me about my lack of mathematical ability. I will remember him with fondness and am sorry for your loss.
