Alfred P Rolph
Died: Jul 12, 2013
Alfred P. Rolph (Alf), 77, of Byram Township, NJ, died Friday, July 12, 2013, after a short illness at Hackettstown Regional Hospital.

Born in Morristown, NJ and raised in Boonton Township, NJ, Alf resided in Byram Township for 54 years.  Before retiring from A&H Partnership in Dover, NJ in 2008, he had his own business, A&R Builders.  Alf took great pride and accomplishment in building, repairing and renovating homes; he was a "pro" at doing this all of his life.

He loved his coffee and hanging out with the guys at the Byram Diner.  His other joy was playing the slots at Mt. Airy and Monticello casino.

He was the son of the late Rudolph Rolph and Mary Kanouse Rolph.  Alf is survived by his wife, Barbara, and a brother, Allen, many sister and brother-in-laws, many nieces and nephews and his supportive friends and neighbors.  He is also survived by his beloved cats, Tixi, Ali, Laci, Sammi, Carrot and Oreo.  He now joins all his past furry friends at the Rainbow Bridge where they will be waiting for him.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home.  905 High St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840  and are private.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Byram Animal Rescue Squad (BARKS), P.O. Box 593 Stanhope, NJ 07874.

Condolences:

Dear Barbara, Dom and I extend our condolences at this difficult time. We will always remember Alf for his readiness to help others, whether it were a big project or a small one, he always said "yes, I can help". You both showed many kindnesses to Betty, and us, over the years, and we will not forget them. We'll miss running into him at the Byram Diner! And, what a great reunion it must have been at the Rainbow Bridge, what excitement and joy! Take care, God bless you. Alf is always with you, just listen to your heartbeat. Keep his smile going. Love & Prayers, Anne

BA, we are so sorry for your loss. Alf was a wonderful friend, husband and "daddy". It is comforting to know that Alf is with our furry "babies" that have passed as well. Alf will be missed by everyone, most especially by you. If there is anything we can do, please, please let us know. All Our Love, MA and Jon

Dear Barbara, I am so sorry for your loss. My family and I wish you the strength to get through this period of great sadness; may you soon reach the point where you'll be able to cherish your memories and think about him with a smile, rather than a tear.
