 Vincenzo Falcone, 97, born in New York City, he lived with his family on the lower East Side and ran a family fruit store on Ave. B.  On June 19th, 1938 he married Marion Hatt and they celebrated 72 years together before her passing. The entire family moved to Queens in 1947 where they ran an Italian deli until 1968. His parents lived downstairs behind the store, his brother and family lived in one upstairs apartment while Vinnie and family lived across the hall in the other upstairs apartment.  In 1969 he became an employee of the United States Postal Service and remained with them until he retired at 65 years of age. In 1999 he and Marion moved to Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ.

He is survived by three of his four children Vincent, Ann and Robert, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Vincenzo was a hardworking, loving family man whose main joy in life was providing for and being surrounded by his family.  His mission in life was to help ensure their happiness. 

While at Heath Village he was noted for his warmth, his tender care of Marion, his sharp wit and his ability to always have a joke to share with all he encountered.  Known as Jimmy and Uncle Jimmy to his family and friends in New York, he became known as Vinnie while in New Jersey.  No matter his name he was loved by all and will be missed. Our loss is Heaven’s gain; rest in peace.

The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Thursday, December 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father David Pekola officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. www.cochranfuneral.com
