James Robert Pomel, age 90, of Hackettstown died Sunday, October 23, 2016. James was born November 30, 1925 in Bayonne, NJ. He was the son of the late Waldron and the late Marie (Burns) Souders. He married Jennie Rossi. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital Elizabeth NJ as a Stationary Engineer. He is survived by his loving wife: Jennie (Rossi) Pomel, His son, Charles J. Pomel and Wife Donna, and grandsons Paul and Matthew, His daughter, Lenore Mac Kenzie and husband Michael and grandchildren Brian Mac Kenzie and Wife Adrienne and 2 great granddaughters Quinn And Lorelai James, Kathryn Stacknick and husband Daniel, Elizabeth Battiston and husband Ron.  He was pre deceased in death by his son James R. Pomel Jr.   A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. Mary's Church, at 10:00am, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father David Pekola officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. . Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, Inc. 13 Sunflower Ave, Suite1010 Paramus, NJ 07652. I am so sorry to hear about your Husband and father he was a sweet guy. I'll miss seeing him on Fridays he was really sweet hope I'll see you soon. Soery again I'll be thinking about you all in your time of grief

Charlie, Donna,Jennie, Lenore and all your family, We are so sorry for all your family about your Dad and, so recently, Donna's Mom. We know how much they were a part of your life and how much you cared for them. We are confident they will live on in Heaven and in your fond memories. And that their best will survive into the future thru you, the family and all who knew them!
