Helen Poniatowski, age 103, of Hackettstown NJ, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at home. Helen was born July 27, 1908 in China. She is the daughter of the late Jan and Antonina (Nawrocka) Stempniak. She was married to the Late Joseph Poniatowski.

Helen was a lifelong resident of Hackettstown, NJ and was of the catholic faith and a life member of St Mary's Church of the Assumption. Helen loved crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was devoted to her family and tended to their every need, a value that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Helen lived a long and fun filled life making a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Helen is predeceased by Husband Joseph Poniatowski, 2 Sons- Ignacio Poniatowski & Zygmunt Poniatowski, 3 daughters - Wanda Carpenter, Hedy Souders and her late husband Robert and Marie Poniatowski, 3 Brothers and 8 Sisters.

She is survived by Son- Retired Commander Stephen Poniatowski and his wife Jinxey; Daughter & Son in Law, Regina & George Frone; Daughter & Son In Law, Elizabeth & Jay Sparkes; Son in Law, Leslie Carpenter. 11 Grandsons, 4 Granddaughters and 29 Great Grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday May 22, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ, 07840.

The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 23 at St. Mary's Church Of The Assumption, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father David Pekola officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery, 2 East Springtown Road, Long Valley NJ on May 23, 2012.
