Daniel E.  Kately

 Daniel E. Kately, age 48, of Blairstown, NJ died Friday, September 22, 2017 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ from complications from Lung Cancer due to smoking for over 30 years.  Daniel was born January 18, 1969 in Morristown, NJ. He was the son of George Kately and the late Barbara (Ryver) Kately.

Daniel was a Master Carpenter and loved woodcarving.  He was featured in New Jersey Homes Magazine, Architects Design and on the Martha Stewart Show for his expertise in woodcarving. 

He is survived by his wife: Shani (Lindsay) Kately, his 3 daughters,  Brooke Kately, Sheila Kately and Faith Kately, his father George Kately, 2 brothers, Thomas Kately and wife Sally, George Kately, III and wife Sandy, and 3 nieces, Victoria, Jamie and Samantha Kately.

A memorial service will be held 8:30 pm on Wednesday, September 27 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Cremation is private

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, September 27 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057

At Daniel’s request, he donated himself to Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY for advancement in Cancer Research.
