Joseph lived in Fort Myers, FL. for 25 years coming from Mountain Lakes, NJ. He was a parishioner of The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield, NJ. as well as STS. Peter & Paul R.C. Church in Great Meadows, NJ. Before his retirement he was employed as a Postmaster in Succasunna, NJ He was a member of the American Legion in Piscataway and the Belvidere Post # 131; member of the retired Postmasters Association (a national organization); was an avid reader, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by sons Dennis and wife Bonnie Kelly and William and wife Mary Ruth Kelly ; daughter Margaret and husband Joseph Tavernite; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; he was predeceased by a grandchild.
Visiting will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ
Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post # 131, Belvidere, NJ 07823.

So long Joe you will be missed by those who love you so much. I loved your spirit and how well you interacted with the family. You were a good man and will be in my heart for all time. So many things like picnics and birthdays where we would get together are always on my mind.
