Richard G. Kresge, 84, of Mt. Olive Twp, New Jersey, passed away at the home of his beloved daughter, Denise Valez in Fountain Inn, South Carolina on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Born March 31, 1935 in Snydersville, PA., “Dick” was the son of the late Clyde & Elsie Klingel Kresge.
A lifelong resident and contributor to this community, Dick retired from the Mount Olive Board of Education after 27 years of service. Prior to that, he was employed by the Dover Handbag Company of Stanhope, NJ for 29 years. Dick was a long-time member of the Budd Lake Fire Department, Fire Police, Elks Club and was an honorary member of the Hackettstown Moose Lodge.
In addition to his beloved daughter, Denise and her husband Xavier Velez, he is survived by his twin brother, Robert Kresge; one sister, Gail Snyder and many nieces & nephews. Two loving grandchildren, Nicholas & Ethan Macaluso and two great grandchildren, Rylan & Koen Macaluso.
He is predeceased by his son, Richard “Rick” Kresge, three brothers; Terry, Karey & Clyde as well as his girlfriend, Beverly Bowman.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840.
Funeral Services with Fireman’s honors will take place on Saturday, 2:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

I am so sad to hear about Rich’s passing. He was such a good person, always good to be with. I know he missed Beverly very much and we all enjoyed being with both of them at Country Kitchen in Wall NJ.
To the Kresge family we send our condolences, he will be missed by many people.
I hope he and Bev are together again.

I am so sorry about Dick's passing. He was a constant on Indian Lane. I must say so sorry I got my dates crossed. I thought the viewing was today. Dick we be sorely missed. Ted Ziegert

Dick will be missed by many of his friends, especially the Class of 1955. My condolences to his family. Dick was always a very friendly and courteous man to every one. We all will miss him. May he Rest in Peace.

He was a terrific guy with a great attitude and a ready smile. He never
passed our house without a big wave and happy smile. We were lucky
to have him as a neighbor for so many years. BLFD will certainly miss him.

As a neighbor for 15 years, Rich was the one of a kind guy that made every task look easy. I will miss you greatly. I still see you on the mower with a smile.

To all of Dick's family; I regret not being able to get to Dick's services but my wife,JoEllen and I are with you all in spirit and prayers. Dick did not have an easy life but he was a hard working and dedicated man. He loved his family and he loved his fire company service. He will be greatly missed. God bless you all and hang on to your memories, they will get you through this time of loss.

I am very sorry to hear of Dick passing away.I went through high school with Dick and always enjoyed his friendship.Dick was definitely one of the “GOOD GUYS “.
