Arlene Mergner, 71, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Mrs. Mergner was born July 18, 1940 in Newark, NJ to Frank and Helen (Rizzolo) Bongo.

Arlene graduated from Barringer High School in 1958 and later attended Warren County College. She worked at M&M Mars prior to obtaining her real estate license and working at Centennial Real Estate in Hackettstown for several years.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, genealogy, antiquing, family dinners and spending time at the beach, especially with her two grandsons.

Mrs. Mergner is survived by her sister; Rosemary Stanko, Sons; Don DalCielo and Robert Stanko, Daughters; Elena Mergner and Tami Jensen, Son-in-Law; John Jensen, 2 Grandsons who were her pride and joy, John and Chris Jensen.

She is preceded in death by her mother Helen Bongo, Nephews: Michael and David Stanko and Niece, Lori Stanko.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ, 07840. A Mass will be offered Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nutley, NJ. Burial will follow at Glenndale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
