My deepest sympathies on the loss of Lou. He was so kind to Marvin and to me. I greatly appreciated being included in the Christmas Party each year. Marvin always looked forward to talking to Lou and doing appraisals for him. He will be greatly missed by the entire Real Estate Community.

Dear Kathy, Don, and Anna, We have a lovely memory of the day we spent with you at your parents' home. It was such a pleasure to see your dad, who had always worked so hard, making us feel welcome in his beautiful home, and enjoying the company of his daughter and her family. We send you our heartfelt condolences. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. Love, Judy, Mike, and Aurora

I'd like to extend my condolences to the entire Varone family on your loss. I've worked for Dime Savings for over 32 years. During most of that time, Lou was a valuable and respected member of our Board of Directors. You're probably going to hear this sentiment expressed many times over the next few weeks. Lou embodied all of the characteristics that make up a dedicated and effective leader. I always found him to be one of the most intelligent, thoughtful and, yes, humorous members of our Boards. His loss leaves a very large hole in the hearts of every member of the Dime community.
