 Audrey E. Steet, "Joy", age 74, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday May 20th 2017.  Born and raised in Atlantic City, she is a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Audrey W. Boddy Smith.

Joy lived in Galloway Township before moving to Hackettstown, NJ in October 2012. Joy was married to her high school sweetheart James H. Steet for 48 years before his death in 2012.

She was a graduate of Stockton State College and had been a special education classroom aide at the Arthur Rann Middle School in Galloway Township for 18 years before retiring.  Joy was an avid cook who had a vast collection of cook-books and kitchen gadgets. She enjoyed sailing, gardening, camping, birding, spending time at the boat and with Olivia & Otis.

She was a volunteer at the Trinity food pantry and a member of St. Jame's Episcopal Church in Hackettstown.  While living in Galloway Township she and her husband were dedicated volunteers at the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge for many years.

Joy is survived by a son, James S. Steet of Dearborn, Michigan, a daughter Joyce A. Steet of Hackettstown, a brother Joseph T. Smith, Jr. (Cindy) of Absecon and her 2 adored grandchildren, Brandon A. Kous and James T. Steet.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 25, 10:30 am at St. James Episcopal Church 214 Washington St. Hackettstown. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until the service time. Interment will follow at the Atlantic City Cemetery Association, Pleasantville, NJ arrival scheduled for 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to St. James Episcopal Church would be greatly appreciated.
