Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McWilliams, loving Mother and Grandmother, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2016 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. She was 78 years old.

Betty was born in West Orange NJ and was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Humphrey) Burt.  She and her beloved husband Milton C. McWilliams, lived for many years in Northern New Jersey area, Florida and most recently Belvidere, NJ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons Kevin of Florida, Lake (Mic) and his wife Robin, of Long Valley, NJ, her cherished grandchildren, Brittany and husband Nick Longworth, Timothy, Reilly and Taylor McWilliams. She is also survived by her sister Louise Blaine, Sister In-laws Delores Burt and Marie Burt, Sister In-law and Brother In-law Delores and Walter Stalb and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her two brothers Walter and Robert Burt.

Viewing hours will be on Thursday, October 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840.  There will be a 9:15 a.m. viewing and a 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, October 14th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9 Red School House Road, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will be private at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester, NJ.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk.  Donations by mail, can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk, New Jersey Chapter, 14 Commerce Drive, Suite 301, Cranford, NJ 07016. Or donations can be made on line at http://pages.lightthenight.org/nj/Morris16/rmcwilliam.  Her family will be participating in this walk on October 22nd in her honor.

Life is transitory and we must be ready to leave it. Betty certainly was prepared as we all can attest. She was a wonderful person that we can all emulate.

Betty was my visiting teacher for several years and a good friend. She was a very kind and thoughtful person and she will be missed.
