James C. Bernecker, 39, of Long Valley, New Jersey passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, March 16, 2014.  James was born on January 28, 1975 at Hackensack Hospital.  He was the Service Manager at Clinton Acura since 2007 and worked in the automotive industry throughout his adult years. 
 
James is survived by his three beloved daughters, Abigail, Lily, Madeline and their mother Katherine Bumber.  James is also survived by his mother Barbara Holly and her husband David of Southport North Carolina, his father William Bernecker and his wife Mary of Chester New Jersey, his two younger sisters Christina Greenley of Long Valley and Amy Bernecker of Denville. As well as his two nieces Jordan and Taylor Greenley. James also left behind his two dogs Jasper and Darby, and his cat Bella. 
 
Jim was a caring and compassionate person who loved animals.  Jim had a variety of interests including running, wood-working, automotive hobbies and spending time with friends.  Most importantly, Jim cherished spending time with his daughters.
 
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home located at 905 High Street in Hackettstown, New Jersey between the hours of 2:00pm and 6:00pm.   A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will begin promptly at 5:00pm.
 
 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the college fund for James’ children.

I am so sorry for your loss . I did not know James ,but my son Jared Winters did . They worked together at Clinton Acura . And James was a wonderful man who trained my son to be the best at his job ! And Jared is doing well today because of James so , Thank you James for being such a great friend to Jared . He will miss you dearly ! Rest in Peace and I'm am praying for your family .
