
Alfred B. Dellicker, 94, of Cranberry Lake, NJ went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017 in Hackettstown, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Rockport section of Mansfield Twp., NJ, Alfred was the son of the late Lyman B. & Mildred Dalley Dellicker. Alfred lived in the greater Hackettstown area for many years then residing at Cranberry Lake for the past 30 years.
Mr. Dellicker was employed by the former K & E Corporation of New York until 1970 and then became self employed until his retirement several years ago. He proudly served his country during WWII from 1943 – 1945 in the Army Air Corp. attaining the rank of Tech Sgt. and accumulated over 2,000 combat flying hours. Alfred was a graduate of Hackettstown High School, class of 1940. A member of the Hackettstown Historical Society and was an accomplished violinist having played in the Essex County Symphony Orchestra for many years.
Mr. Dellicker is survived by one son, Robert A. Dellicker and his wife Carmen of Cranberry Lake, NJ; Three daughters, Peggy Horton and her husband Alfred of Nazareth, Pa., Cathy Balella and her husband Robert of Hackettstown, NJ & Susan Hutton and her husband Martin of Hackettstown, NJ. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and a soon to be Great Great Grandson. Five Nieces & Nephews; Sister in Law Phyllis and her husband Stan Russell of Hackettstown, NJ and a Brother in Law, Bud and his wife Sue Ruehle of Broadheadsville, PA. Lastly, Alfred was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years Wanda Ruehle Dellicker who passed away in 2015 and his beloved brother, William A. Dellicker.
Viewing hours will take place Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. Funeral Services will be Friday, 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ.
