Charles W. "Chuck" Scudder, Sr., 67, of Hackettstown, N.J. died on sunday, 8-05-12 at his home.  Born 11/01/1944, he was the son of the late George A. & Anna Gould Scudder.  Chuck has lived most of his life in the Hackettstown and Great Meadows, N.J. area moving from Rockaway Twp., N.J. as a young man.
  He was employed by the Liberty Twp. Road Dept. for many years and retired in 2004.  Chuck was a former member of the Hackettstown Moose Lodge.  Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family and was previously very active in local sports such as the softball and flag football leagues. Hunting and fishing also played an important role in Chuck's life years ago.  He was of the Methodist faith and scheduled to join the Trinity United Methodist Church, Hackettstown, N.J. this sunday.
  He is survived by his wife of 48 yrs., Sharon Bencivengo Scudder with whom he lived. Two sons - Chuck Scudder, Jr. and his wife Shari of Hackettstown, N.J. & Michael Scudder and his wife Hope of Liberty Twp., N.J.. 3 loving Grandchildren, Andrew, Kirsten & Cheyenne.  He is survived by 4 Sisters, Charlotte (Arnold) Heath, Pat (Ron) Garriques, Georgia DeLorenzo & Sharon Hansen. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
  Viewing and funeral services will be on Friday, 8-10-12 at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840 from 4-8PM with the funeral beginning at 8pm. Interment will be  on Sunday, 2:30 PM at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, N.J.
