Barbara Shayne, 88, of Mystic, CT passed away August 19, 2016 at Pequot Health Center in Groton, CT.  Barbara was born in Weehawken, NJ on December 9, 1927 to Rose (Baker) and George Stewart.   She graduated from Weehawken High School and attended The Wood Secretarial School in New York City.  She worked at the N.Y. Telephone Co. as an auditor before marrying Charles S. Shayne (Shinkowski) of Hackettstown, NJ.  Together they raised their four children in Morris Plains, NJ.  Barbara spent the last 30 years in Ledyard and Mystic, CT enjoying her children, her grandchildren, her cats and her wonderful quilting. 

Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 29 years and their infant son, Bradford.  She is survived by her children:  George and his wife, Eileen of Pacific Grove, CA, Elizabeth Freeman of Mystic, CT, Douglas of Crofton, MD and Andrew and his wife, Susan of Middletown Springs, VT.  She also leaves grandchildren Jeffrey and Christopher Freeman, Catherine and John Shayne and Caitlin Morrow.
