Louis "Bert" V. Villano

Louis "Bert"  V. Villano, Jr., age 82, of Independence Township, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home. Louis was born August 22, 1930 in Netcong, NJ. He is the son of the late Luigi and the late Anna (Esposito) Villano. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years the late Dorothy (Perrine) Villano, in 2011. Louis was also predeceased by 1 brother; Daniel and 1 sister; Marion Culleny. 
 
He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. Louis was a construction worker for the US Railroad and was employed by Krumm Distributors, Hackettstown, NJ for 15 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption, Hackettstown, the Feast of the Assumption Society of Netcong, the Hackettstown Firemen's Relief Association and the Cataract Hose Co. of the Hackettstown Fire Department. He attended Netcong High School.
 
He is survived by 3 daughters; Margaret Villano, LuAnn and her husband Mark Fine, Joanne and her husband Brian Phipany, 7 grandchildren; Jennifer, Jamie, Rachael, Michele, Karen, Michael and Steven, 4 great grandchildren and 4 brothers; Martin, Anthony, Joseph and Michael.  
 
Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 11 am with the Rev. David Pekola officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown following services.

Sorry for your loss. I will always remember all the good times and Thanksgivings at Villano's home. So glad I got to see him in December when I was in NJ. He and Dottie always called me "Chief". Jeff Tynan and Linda De Jonge

Dear Burts family, We are deeply saddened to hear of "your" and "our" loss. We miss our good neighbors terribly. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have many laughable memories of both Burt & Dot and those are the gifts of life that are priceless. Love Rita & Bill
