Frank J. DeFazio, 76, of Brooklyn in actuality, of Derby Town in spirit, died peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2018 at home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 4, 1941 to the late Francesco DeFazio and Maria Marzella DeFazio.
Frank was the beloved husband of 58 years to Marilyn Facella DeFazio, and the cherished father to Debra DeFazio Kaczmarek, Frank C. DeFazio, Anthony DeFazio and Denise DeFazio Cruci. He was also the loving father-in-law to Joseph Kosina, Debra Lombardi DeFazio, Jennifer Napoli DeFazio and Edward Cruci. He was “Poppy” to 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his family and friends for his warmth, his comforting hugs, and his spectacular sense of humor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A mass of Catholic burial will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery in Stroudsburg, PA.

Dear Marilyn, Debbie, Frankie, Anthony and Denise and all your families,
I just heard about the passing of Frank and I am truly sorry for your loss. It has been a very long time since we have seen each other and yet I still have such wonderful memories of him and all of you that will be with me forever. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Poppy, thank you for being the amazing you! I am so grateful to have had the honor of knowing you and having you in my life. You exuded warmth, love, kindness, and were absolutely hilarious. You always made me feel loved and accepted and as one of your own. You were the greatest family man, Poppy and Great Poppy to Luca! Thank you for all your stories, jokes, kindness, best hugs, and love! You will be truly missed! I will miss scratching your back too! I love and miss you!
