Catherine "Kay" C. Addotta Notillo
Died: Nov 4, 2014
Notillo
Catherine Notillo, 91, of Oxford, NJ, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, on November 4, 2014.  She was born, February 26, 1923, in Newark, NJ, to the late Antonino and Madelena Addotta, and was one of 8 siblings: Bessie Coviello (d), Joseph Addotta (d), Frank Addotta (d), Rose Santangelo (d), Josephine Lopes (d), Gerry LiSanti, and Antoinette Marino.

Catherine attended Oliver Street Grammar School, in Newark, NJ. During her younger years, she worked in sewing machine factories where she assembled ladies fashions.  While her husband was off to war, Catherine supported the war effort by working in the Regina Vacuum Company making bomb fuses.  She then joined her husband in Biloxi, Mississippi.

After the War was over, Catherine and her husband, Joseph, moved back to Newark, where she became an active member in St. Theresa's Church.  She and her husband moved to Hackettstown, NJ, where she raised her three children.  She was employed at M & M's/Mars Co. for many years.  There as always, family and friends were her passion and delight. She loved to host parties and entertain them in her home.

She and her family spent summers traveling the USA.  Later, she and her husband moved to Tucson, Arizona where they lived for many years.  Finally, they returned to Oxford, NJ, where they spent their later years.

Catherine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and an active member in St. Rose of Lima Church in Oxford.  She loved to travel, bowl, crochet, and in her senior years, jigsaw puzzles became her passion.

Catherine, lovingly called Kay, was married to Joseph Notillo (d) for 58 years and had three children, Madeline Ackerman, Joseph Notillo (d) and Kathleen Nolan.   Catherine was blessed with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren all of whom she adored and they, her. In addition to her immediate family, many nieces, nephews, and friends survive her. Kay will truly be missed.
