Muriel Luteran, age 89, of Chester, NJ died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, N.J. surrounded by her loved ones. Muriel was born July 9, 1923 in Chester,  NJ. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Jennie (McMahon) Thomson. She was predeceased by her loving husband Lewis J. Luteran in 2002.

She was employed as a supervisor by  Co-Op in Chester, NJ during WW II. 
Muriel lived all of her life in Chester, NJ. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and was known by the locals as the "Flower Lady". She sold vegetables and flowers on the side of the road at her house for many, many years. Muriel enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Canada.

She is survived by 3 sons, Joseph of Scottsdale, AZ; George and his wife Estherlee, Lebanon Township, NJ; Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Franklin, TN; 3 daughters, Nancy Luteran, Hackettstown, NJ; Cindy and her husband Carl Dorcas, Hackettstown, NJ; Marsha and her husband Stephen Brenner, Long Valley, NJ; brother, Lawrence Thomson, Hackettstown, NJ; 8 grandchildren, Brian & Wife Jessica, Megan, Kevin Luteran, Patty and Chance Horan, Erin, Molly and Trent Luteran;  predeceased by  son in law, Timothy Horan  and 7 Siblings.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 85 Pleasant Hill Road, Chester, NJ with burial to follow.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 21, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
