Robert Mastondrea, 76, of Mansfield Township, NJ died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Born in Hackensack, NJ on August 5, 1937 to the late John and Antoinette (Squillace) Mastondrea. Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia (Humes) Mastondrea.
Robert was a graduate of North Arlington High School, North Arlington, NJ. He lived in Mansfield Township, NJ since 1970 coming from Jersey City, NJ. He retired in 1998 from Exxon in Clinton, NJ as a Research Technician. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves; active with the Boy Scouts; member of the Cherry Ridge Rifle Association; he crafted sailing vessels, was a gunsmith and practiced Tai Chi for 30 years, was a military history buff particularly the Civil War and was an avid reader.
In addition to his wife Virginia, Robert is survived by a son Christian and his wife Amanda Mastondrea; a sister Celeste and her husband Vincent Reynolds; and his first grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Fox Terrier Club, C/O Virginia Mastondrea, 1759 Rt. 57, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 with Robert's name as memo.

Bob's enthusiasm for life delighted everyone who came in contact with him. He was such a good man, and the strength of his loving spirit and open heart will continue to shine through his family and friends. It was such a pleasure to know Bob. Ginny, Christian & Amanda, Peggy & Wade, Justin & Jocelin, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bob will be dearly missed by his family and extended family. Ginny and Bob made everyone feel like family in their presence. Sending love and prayers to his wife, Ginny, and niece Peggy (special friends of mine)- and all their loved ones and friends.
