 William H. Lash, Jr. “Bill”, age 87, of Hackettstown, NJ died Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Lash was born May 20, 1931 in Bayonne, NJ to the son of the late William H. and Gladys (Yelverton) Lash, Sr.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved son, William H. Lash, III and his cherished grandson, William H. Lash, IV. 

He served in the Air Force during the Korean war from 1952 to 1955.  He was previously employed by Secaucus Postal Service, Secaucus, NJ as a Mail Handler retiring many years ago.  Bill was an avid reader, finishing a book every week, he had a photographic memory and spoke German fluently.  He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, loved sports, especially baseball and researched African American History.  Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian (Doe) Lash, his daughter, Dr. Deirdre Habermehl, 3 Grandchildren: Brittany, Nicole and Brooks, a nephew, Les Henson and wife Gwendolyn, a Godson, Pacorh Patimetha, Cousins, Vivian, Janice, Helen And Betty

Cremation is private.  Memorial service at Trinity United Methodist Church, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2pm.

Vivian, So sorry to hear about Bill, you know he will be missed terribly. We looked forward to our chats. I remember him coming to my sons baseball game years ago. I will always remember the cake he brought me one afternoon. Please let us know if you need anything.
