Dear Scott, John, and Howard and families: Though we did not know the Tillou's personally, their names were household names when our boys lived home. You were all spoken of with respect and we felt close to the Tillou family by association. Our sincere condolences to you all for your tremendous loss. My condolences to the Tillou family. Charlie was a great guy, and a big part of Hackettstown. I remember when my Mom's store was running (Mick & Hedy's), Charlie would be in "his" booth every morning, sharing his opinions on current events! It was entertaining to say the least! I'm glad Scott and John have taken over his duties on the chain gang at HHS football games.

We were sad to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a great person and were glad to have known. He certainly made you feel special in his presence. However, he was " the special person". I thanked him many years ago for his service in WWII. I especially recall his story, telling me of his participating in the D-Day landing, June 6, 1944, witnessing the whole operation as a young man/teenage, and his return home after the war. Our deepest sympathy to his family, Scott, et.al. and all who knew him. His legacy will live on through them, for sure.

Scott, John, Uncle Howard, and Family My Wife Robin and I were saddened to hear of your Dad, and Brother (Charley's)Passing. To suggest Hackettstown has lost one of its greatest citizens in a true understatement, as Charley truly had a quiet hand in many of the projects the Town undertook over the past 60 years. One of my fondest memories was the day he asked me to help on the chains at the HHS games in 1983, and I would be there until 2006, though only a pup in comparison to His over 60 years. His years of service to the Hackettstown Fire Department, His Construction Business, the US Navy, and we could go on, but perhaps one of the coolest things, and it showed just how much talent he had was the 2 Fire Department Emblems on display at the Moore Street Fire house that He crocheted with no pattern, and are just beautiful. We wish we could be there to lend a shoulder to lean on, or a simple hug, and Pray the LORD'S comfort on you all as only HE can provide. May GOD bless you all Love Paul & Robin Wallace
