Helen M. Stoddard, 96 of Hackettstown, NJ passed away at home on Friday, June 22, 2018. Born in Mahoney, PA, Helen was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Yankus. She has resided in Hackettstown for well over 50 years and lived in the Countryside section of town most of that time.
Prior to retiring at the age of 85, Helen worked for the CVS Drug Store in Hackettstown for several years. Most of her working years were served at the former Bach’s Drug Store of Hackettstown where she took pride in serving customers at the cosmetics counter. Helen was a fixture in Hackettstown and could be seen walking to and from work every day. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown.
Mrs. Stoddard is survived by two sons, George Robert Stoddard, Jr. and his wife Patsy of Darlington, SC & Michael Stoddard of Irvine, CA. Two beloved granddaughters; Tanya & Rebecca as well as three great grandchildren; Myles, Ezra & Wendel. Helen was predeceased by her loving and dedicated son, Richard “Ricky” Stoddard in 2015. Helen was the last of her four siblings to survive.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. 07840. Funeral services will begin at 7:30pm. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.cochranfuneral.com.

I worked at Bach’s Drugs with Helen for several years. She was a most wonderful person- always upbeat, always a smile, always a kind word - I loved her!! She was one of the best people I have ever worked with in my almost 50 years in pharmacy. I became a pharmacist & moved to RI & worked as a pharmacist for CVS for the last 20yr of my career. It was so great to return to H’to & see Helen still at it with the same enthusiasm I remembered. What a wonderful person & role model. I’m very saddened by OUR loss.
