D. Lois Konkle, age 75, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Newton Memorial Hospital of Newton, NJ. Lois lived in the Blairstown, NJ area most of her life and was born July 23, 1936 in White Plains, NY. She was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and the late Dorothea G. (Hilton) Blanchard, Sr. She was married to the late Raymond H. Konkle. In addition Lois is predeceased by 1 brother Lewis E. Blanchard, Jr. and 1 sister R. Louella Campbell.

She was employed by Blairstown Police Dept., Blairstown, NJ as a Clerk/Dispatcher and previously was a crossing guard for over 45 years in Blairstown, NJ. Lois was a member of the Knowlton united Methodist Church and had recently served on the board of Trustees of the church; Past Matron of Blair Chapter #179 O.E.S. in Blairstown; member of the Hardwick Senior Citizens; she volunteered at the church Thrift Shop and was a member of the Newton Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter: Lois C. Konkle, her son: Craig M. & wife Elizabeth Konkle, her sister Sharon L. & husband Allen Longenecker; 2 grandchildren: Raymond Thomas & Sophie Grace

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 20 at Knowlton United Methodist Church, Rt. 94, Columbia, NJ with Rev. Donald Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 19 from 2 - 4 and 7 -9 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. and on Friday, January 20 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Knowlton United Methodist Church, 509 State Route 94, Columbia, NJ 07832
