Laura married Edward on leave from World War II, honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Edward quickly returned to duty until the end of the war. They were married for 56 years, Laura chose to stay home to be a dedicated mom to their only child, Jill. She was an involved and active homemaker, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, various school events and church outings. She loved to bowl and belonged to a variety of leagues. Upon moving to Heath Village in 2007 she remained active, enjoying Wii bowling, pinochle, bingo and exercising. Her greatest joy was spending time with her two grandsons and two great granddaughters.
She is survived by devoted daughter, Jill Wanner and husband Kurt, a sister-in-law, Marie Jarowicz, two grandsons, Gregory Wanner and wife Arayel Osborne, Brian Wanner, two cherished great granddaughters, Melanie and Greta Wanner, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1 pm at St. Marks Parish, 59 Spring Lane, Long Valley, NJ with Father Marcin Michalowski officiating. Burial will be in Brigadier Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 10 to 12 noon.
