Doris G. Nordstrom, age 96, a resident of The House of Good Shepherd in Hackettstown, NJ died Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Doris was born June 25, 1920 in Hillside, NJ. She is the daughter of the late LeRoy and Margaret Griggs. Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Carl Nordstrom Sr., three brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.
Family was most important to Doris, she enjoyed cooking for them and her many visits from all of them. She was always very proud of their accomplishments and frequently boasted to her friends about how large her family is and how much she loved every one.
Doris is survived by seven children: Carole Ricciardi and husband Carl, Harold Jr. and wife Anne, Robert, Donald, Lynn Banik and husband Bob, Heather Kries and husband Kenny and Thomas, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.

My deepest condolences. May fond memories of Doris bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these before she passed away. My hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. God has promised us that we will soon be reunited with our loved ones.
