Larry G. Lafaso

 Larry G. LaFaso, 78, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center on Sunday, November 12, 2017 with his loving family by his side.

Born on December 5, 1938 he was the son of the late Nellie Starr.  He was raised by his grandparents, the late George and Ida Starr in the Long Valley and Netcong, NJ area.

Larry was a former volunteer fireman in Schooley’s Mountain. He was a member of the Hackettstown Moose Lodge #816 where he had served as a past governor. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Gulick LaFaso, his daughters, Debora Garrison and her husband Charlie of Ringwood, NJ, Lori Lafaso Grimm and her husband Todd of Edgewood, KY and Michele LaFaso-Wehmeyer of Hackettstown, NJ.  He was a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, Lindsay and Kayla Garrison and Jordyn Wehmeyer.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded is death by two brothers, Raymond and Gary LaFaso. 

Larry was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees.  He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren who are all now in college.  In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling across America with his wife, Pat.

Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 18, 2017 starting at 10 am.  Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart and Stroke Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 in memory of Larry.

Pat I am very sad to hear of the passing of Larry.He was a long time friend.His humor and stories of the way it was when we were young lasted through a whole haircut. I will miss him. God Bless
