Arlene Schmidt, age 81, of Oxford, NJ died Saturday, March 28, 2020 at home.  Arlene was born December 18, 1938 in Newark, NJ to the late Andrew Riley and Grace E. (May) Frasca. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Donald Schmidt, her cherished son, Donald William Schmidt and his wife Catherine, one brother, Phillip Riley and a brother-in-law, Mal Kelly.  
 
Arlene was the glue that kept her family together, she was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced each moment with them. She cherished her role as Nanny. She had a vivacious personality and fighting spirit.
 
She is survived by three daughters, Donna D'Addario and husband Michael, Marlene Schmidt and Al, Diane Schmidt and Brian, three sons, Dennis Schmidt, Christopher Schmidt and Patricia, Derrick Schmidt and wife Maureen, a brother, Curtis Riley, a sister, Ruth Kelly, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 
 
All services are private.

Mom, I am missing you today. You will always be with me in my heart. I am who I am because of your love. I have my sweet and compassionate soul from watching you care for others. I see the world full of wonder because of your imagination. I've learned to never give up seeing your drive and perseverance. I will miss our talks and your stories. I will love you always and forever.
