Sylvia Anne Torres, age 66, of Budd Lake, NJ died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at home. Sylvia was born November 15, 1946 in San Antonio, TX. She is the daughter of the late Narciso and the late Elvira (Martinez) Valdez. She was married to Ralph Torres.
She retired from Roxbury Township Bd. Of Ed., Roxbury, NJ as a School Teacher in 2007.
Sylvia was a member of St. Jude’s R.C. Church, Budd Lake, NJ and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College, San Antonio, Texas with her BA Degree in Education.
She is survived by her husband: Ralph Torres, 2 sons: Rafael A. Torres and wife Wendy, Andrew W. Torres; 1 sister; Edna Cruz and husband Daniel and 1 brother; Narciso Valdez and wife Stephanie and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 27 at St. Jude’s R.C. Church, Budd Lake, NJ with Father Joseph Orlandi officiating. Cremation is private.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 26 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
For those desiring, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 in memory of Sylvia.

We are deeply moved my Mrs. Torres' life, her care and love was always unconditional. She will be greatly missed; heaven now has a new angel to watch over all of us and we look forward to the day we see each other again for eternity. We wish serenity and peace to the Torres and Martinez family, we can't imagine the emptiness you might feel but please know we are here for you if you need anything, our prayers and thoughts are with you all. Love you!!
