Occupation: Don began his thirty year career in the insurance industry after WW II, joining Bankers National Life where he rose to vice president of the group insurance division. He later became chairman and chief executive officer of Beneficial Insurance Group and served on the board of directors of Beneficial Corporation and Fidelity Union Trust Corporation.

Veteran Info: Served in the United States Army for 5 years, spanning World War II. He entered military service as a private and was an infantry captain when he separated from the service. He fought as an infantry officer in Africa, Italy and France. He was awarded three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman's Badge among other awards.

Additional Information:  Served on the board of directors of the Consumer Credit Insurance Association and received their Arthur Morris Award. He taught insurance courses at the University of Colorado and testified before congress on both pending insurance legislation and separately, as a staff member of the Hoover Commission. He was president of the NJ Junior Chamber of Commerce and Secretary of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. Don served in several NJ municipal board positions in Fairlawn and later in Frelinghuysen Township.
