Additional Information: In 1954 Fred's parents moved the family to the Budd Lake Section of Mount Olive Township where the family owned and operated The Juhls Budd Lake Inn and Restaurant. Fred graduated from West Morris Regional High School in 1962. He was a volunteer for both the Budd Lake Fire Company and the Budd Lake First Aid and Rescue Squad, while working as Produce Manager for the Netcong ShopRite from 1962-1968. In 1968 he graduated from the State Police Academy in Sea Girt, NJ and joined the ranks of the Mount Olive Township Police Department. Fred was instrumental in starting the Neighborhood Crime Watch program in Mount Olive. He was also dedicated to protecting the township's youth by conducting numerous fingerprinting and photographing sessions for parents in order to use in the event their child ever went missing. After retiring as Sergeant he assisted both the United States Marine Corps Reserve and Marine Corps League with their annual "Toys for Tots" collection drives and collecting donations for use in creating care packages to support the troops deployed during "Operation Desert Storm". For his efforts he received several "Letters of Appreciation" from both organizations. Fred later moved to Hackettstown and was an Officer with the Moose Lodge #816 and a "Son of a Legion" member with the American Legion Post #164.
