Occupation: During the mid 1960's through the early 1970's Leila was manager of all the Hackettstown School Cafeteria's where all the food was prepared and home baked goods made daily. Record sales of lunches were attained during this period of time. The only complainers were those whose mothers couldn't cook!

Additional Information: Member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hackettstown, NJ for 79 years; graduate of Hackettstown High School in 1936; was very active during her life; active in the Mothers Club, Jr. Womens Club, Cub Scout Den Mother, chaperone for endless dances, skating parties, proms, band concerts. She was never too busy to lend a helping hand. Riddled with arthritis since age 16, Leila continued through life touching others with beautiful craftworks of afgans, baby clothes, hundreds of lap blankets for U.S. Veterans, scarfs, sweaters, etc. Each one a work of love. Knitting, crocheting, and ceramics were part of her talented abilities. She was a Senior Hall Of Fame Inductee in 2004. She was also a Hackettstown Regional Medical Center Volunteer and managed the Gift Shop in the early days of the hospital. She was also in the Auxiliary of the River Hospital, Alexandria Bay, NY. Leila brought love and compassion to all those she met in her 91 years and will be fondly remembered by all.
