Jean H. Churchill

Jean Helen Churchill passed away on May 23, 2013 in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born in Manitowoc, WI to Col. Edward and Viola Schmidt. She graduated Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1943. During high school she assisted the war effort by working part time at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company, which built submarines. She graduated from Beloit College with a BA in Anthropology in 1947 and was a sorority member of Kappa Delta. At college Jean met her husband Robert who preceded her in death in 1999. Jean was an accomplished pianist and animal rights advocate throughout her life. She was a VFW Ladies Auxiliary life member and Past President of VFW Post 659 in Manitowoc, WI, and also VFW Post 282 in Hackettstown, NJ. She retired from the State of New Jersey Division of Human Services and was an honorary life member of the Communication Workers of America. Jean will be eternally missed and loved and leaves behind her son Scott, daughter-in-law Pauline, and grandson Andrew of Hackettstown, relatives in Arizona and Wisconsin and many great friends.

Scott, Bob and I were saddened to here that your mom had passed away. We will always remember her and her kind ways. She was truly devoted to her family and friends and had a great love for animals.
