I consider myself so fortunate to have been educated by Mrs. Ouellette for four wonderful years at HHS. I remember discovering that she shared my love for silent films, and my parents and I would have Mr. and Mrs. O to our home to see Charlie Chaplin films in our theatre. A truly dignified woman she was, as well as greatly loved and respected.

Ms. Oulette was such an inspiration and role model for so many people, for so long. Her enthusiasm for history and current events as "the bigger life and wider story" that put "the daily trivia" of high school in perspective. Wherever things happen in the world today I know that place because of her Geography class! Her wise balance of caring and challenging individuals helped so many of us grow in relationship skills as well as academics. I am so grateful that we kept in touch from then to now. May you, her family and friends, be comforted in the knowledge that the geography and fellowship of heaven wider and more beautiful than any of us can imagine.

Our deepest sympathy to all the family. We would meet so often at the Shop Rite and what a memory Mrs Ouellette had and the stories she would tell and always with her wonderful humor. She was a joy and a blessing. She would come to our reunions and greet everyone. Always interested in everything we did. She will be missed by so many. God Bless all of you and comfort you and give you peace. Ron & Barbara Shaw

It was a wonderful privilege to work with Helen. I was touched by her grace and charm. She was amazingly intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. I always told her I wanted to grow up to be just like he! She was a fine role model for hundreds of students who were fortunate to have her as a teacher. She was indeed a precious treasure. May God hold her in the palm of his hand.

My condolences to the family and all who remember Helen Ouelette as I have. After not seeing Mrs. Ouelette (she'll always be Mrs. Ouelette to me) I met up with her in the grocery store - immediately she said "Hello Carol Young, how are you, and your brother Robert, and his wife Theresa " I was so impressed that with all the students she had in her career she remembered so many of us and our connections with one another. I, too, worked 36 years in a school (front office) and have tried to emulate Mrs. Ouelette by remembering the many students who came through our doors. What a wonderful person she was. and a memory that will never leave. We have all been blessed by her presence in our lives.

I had so much respect for Mrs. Oullette. She was one teacher who believed in me and told me exactly how it was. She told me to learn to respect myself and others and treat them the way I want to be treated. Do this and you will go far in life. How right she was. She always made class interesting. She was one teacher that made a lasting impression on me. My thoughts and prayers go out to her husband and family. Sue Clark, class of 1981

One of my favorite teachers while at HHS - she was a visual teacher, a great aid to those of different learning styles. And I still remember Fridays and Kenneth Clarke's "Civilisation". Another sad day.

We are saddened to hear of Mrs. Oulette's passing. All of our children were taught by Mrs. Oulette and whenever we would see her in town to speak to her for a minute...she would always ask how they were....remembering their exact names and where they sat in her class. She was a landmark in our town and loved by all. She will be very much missed. Les and Joy Snyder
