 James Hugh Hegarty, age 77, of Budd Lake, NJ formerly of Landing and Pittsburgh, PA died Monday, December 5, 2016 at home.  James was born October 27, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the son of the late John F. and Ellen (McBride) Hegarty.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 1 sister, Patricia Ellen Maureen Hegarty. 

Jim owned and operated Measurements, Inc., in Budd Lake, NJ for 30 years.   He was a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Budd Lake, NJ, was President of Emeritus of the Garden State Chapter of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology, a former officer in the Morris Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and for many years was the Santa Claus at St. Michael's school in Netcong. Jim was an avid reader, Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved to travel and play basketball, never missing a hook shot.

He is survived by his beloved wife: (Romaine) Lee (Elder) Hegarty , his 5 children include 2 sons, James Hegarty, Jr. and Michael Hegarty and wife Noelle DeMarco Hegarty, his 3 loving daughters include; Donna Lowenthal and husband Brian, Kathleen Krevat and husband Lee, Patricia DiSandro, 1 brother, Jack Hegarty and wife Suzanna, 4 cherished grandchildren, Shaina and Devyn Krevat, Cara and Joseph DiSandro, many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Along with a large extended Australian family.

A mass will be held at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Budd Lake, NJ on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 am.  

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Friday from 9 am until 10:30 am.  Cremation will be private

Lee I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim,I will never forget all the great times we all shared at El Coyote and his love that he had for you. I always said you both made such a beautiful couple and the love you shared showed everytime you came in. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time..... RIP Jim, I am sure this is a Black Bush with your name on it in heaven
