William L. Pritchard, age 87, of Mt. Arlington Senior Living, Mt Arlington, NJ, died Monday, February 18, 2013, at Morris Hill Nursing Home of Morristown, NJ. William was born August 17, 1925 in Newark, NJ. He is the son of the late Howard and the late Marie (Hans) Pritchard.   

He served in the Navy during WW II from1943 to 1946 with the “Seabees”. Will was awarded the American Theatre Medal, the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.  He was employed by DeVries Brothers Printing, Saddlebrook, NJ, as a printer for several years. Prior to that he ran a successful printing business. Will was a member of the VFW in Caldwell, NJ, and was a former Little League Coach in North Caldwell. He also enjoyed wood working and was an avid reader.  

William is survived 2 Sons: Kenneth and wife Helen Pritchard, Russell and wife Karen Pritchard; 1 daughter; Cynthia and husband Kenneth Swenson; 5 grandchildren; Dallin and wife Stefi, Ryan, Michele, Elizabeth and Christopher; 1 niece; Janice and 1 nephew; Richard and wife Judy. 

William was predeceased by a brother, Russell Pritchard and a sister, Florence Colligan. 

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ. 

Visiting will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 from 6-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested by the family to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, www.vfw.org/Contribute

I am heartbroken over the news of Uncle Willy's passing. His spirit and great sense of humor will be missed very much. Rest in Peace; I know the past few years have been tough on him and his family since he wasn't the same fun loving, happy person he was in his younger days.
