
Hildegard B. Breitenstein, age 85, of Hackettstown, NJ died Friday, August 4, 2017, at home surrounded by the love of her family. Hildegard was born on October 15, 1931 in Hettenleidelheim, Germany. She was the daughter of the late Jakub and Margarete (Schwalb) Ullmer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved loving husband, Edward.
Hildegard was a loving homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her cherished granddaughters, Michelle and Diana, to whom she was known as Oma. She loved going for long car rides with them and going on adventures. Her favorite thing to do was go to the diner for lunch and afterwards have a Starbucks Frappuccino or a chocolate milkshake from Baskin Robbins. Hildegard was an avid reader, gardener, enjoyed watching game shows and loved her NY Mets.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Levy, her devoted son, John Breitenstein and wife Vickie, her sisters in Germany, Maria and Katharina, four grandchildren, Michelle, Diana, Adrien and Summer, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service with the family will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 18, 2017.
Entombment will be in Union Cemetery, Hackettstown following services.
