Theodore Crane Zellars

Theodore Crane Zellars of Allamuchy, NJ, died Monday, 5-26-14 at the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, he was 81 yrs. old. Born in Hackettstown, NJ on May 26, 1933, "Ted" was the son of the late Raymond & M. Eleanor Crane Zellars and was a lifelong resident of the area, he was also predeceased by 1 sister, Frances Zellars Duncan.
Before his retirement, Mr. Zellars was employed by the Elastimold Corporation of Hackettstown as a Lab Materials Supervisor. He had previously worked at the former Cook, Color & Chemical and the Imperial Rubber Company. He was a graduate of Hackettstown High School, class of 1950 and Seton Hall University with a degree in Business Administration in 1964.
Theodore proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 attaining the rank of Private. He was a member of the American Legion, Blue Ridge Post#164, Hackettstown, NJ. Always active in his community, he was a member of various organizations such as; The Union Cemetery Committee, Hackettstown; The Allamuchy Board of Education from 1970-1975 formerly serving as president; The Allamuchy Board of Adjustments; The Hackettstown Juvenile Committee and the Hackettstown First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irene Jankiv Zellars, One son, Theodore Crane Zellars, Jr. and his wife Brenda (Crawn) Zellars. A daughter Melanie Zellars Kennaugh and four loving grandchildren, Theodore C. Zellars, III, Mathew Zellars, Adam Kennaugh and Kyra Kennaugh.

Private Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown or the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. We are very sorry to hear of Ted's passing, he was a fun guy. We had some fun times together growing up in Hackettstown. It was so nice seeimg him and you Irene when I came up for our 60th. High School reunion.

Our deepest sympathy to Irene and family. Ted was a great guy. I have found memories escorting Irene and Ted to their seats at Hackettstown First Presbyterian Church when I ushered as a young man.
