Charles W.  Tice

Charles W. Tice, 78, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away at Hackettstown Medical Center on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Born on March 31, 1941 in Summit, NJ, “Charlie” was the son of the late George & Joanna (Ida) Bock Tice.

Before his retirement, Charlie was employed by Union Local #825, Jersey City, NJ as a crane operator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era. A true patriot, Charlie was a member of Blue Ridge Post #164 American Legion of Hackettstown, NJ. He served as past Post Commander of Post #164 Hackettstown and Post #43 American Legion of Florham Park, NJ. In addition, Charlie previously served as the Sergeant at Arms and Vice Commander of the Warren County, New Jersey American Legion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen Sperry Tice of Hackettstown; one son, Rich Tice of North Carolina, step-daughter, Donna Rein  and four grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Nick & Tina, one brother Gregory Tice and his wife Joan, one niece Melanie Kynor Burns and one nephew Christopher Kynor.  He was pre deceased by a sister, Joanna Tice Kynor.  

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Blue Ridge Post #164 American Legion, 450 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840 with Legion services and honors beginning at 6:00pm.

Maureen and Family...We are very saddened to learn of our friend Charlies passing. He was a good man and always nice to everyone. Used to love to see him walking his little dog down by Dunkin Donuts. R.I.P. Charlie...Joy and Les Snyder
