Amy H. Wiedemann, 92 and a resident of Heath Village, died recently at Hackettstown regional Medical
Center, Hackettstown, NJ. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 12, 1923 and was the daughter of the
late Anthony and Emma Wiedemann. She was raised and educated in Madison, NJ beginning in the one
room schoolhouse of Florham Park, NJ and graduated from Madison High School. She lived in Peapack-
Gladstone for many years, was a book keeper for Hill Chevrolet, was a member of the Reformed Church
where she taught Sunday School, led a youth group, sang in the church choir, and was a Girl Scout Leader.
She wrote a weekly column, "Thinking Out Loud" for the Peapack-Gladstone Exponent. She earned a
bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Masters from Rutgers University. Ms.
Wiedemann taught elementary grades in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township School System
for many years. She was active in the Valley Club, the Senior Center of Lebanon Twp., the Silver Belles
Choral Group and was an amateur artist, an avid bridge player, and an opera lover. She was a current
member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown and was an enthusiastic volunteer at the
Friendship Center Daycare at Heath Village. Amy was the beloved aunt to her three nieces Barbara
Kopeski of Myerstown, PA, Nancy Ochsner of Merced, CA, and Patricia Passarella of Philadelphia, PA. She
is also survived by her sister, Natalie C. Bergen of Lebanon, PA and many grand nieces and nephews. Amy
had a passion for life and could always be found smiling and laughing. She loved her church, her family
and her many friends. Those who wish may make memorial donations to The First Presbyterian Church,
Main Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held at the Heath Village, 430 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at 1:30 pm.
