Frank P. Uhl, 88, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 29, 1930 in Nanticoke, PA, Frank was the son of the late Frank S. & Edna Mika Ulatowski.
 
He and his beloved wife, Ellin Jean Skelly Uhl moved to the Hackettstown area in 1963. Mr. Uhl retired in 1992 after 30 years of service with Sandoz-Novartis in East Hanover, NJ.  He was  involved with Biologic Control. Prior to his career,
Frank graduated from Kettering University of Flint, Michigan and Kings College in Wilkes Barre, PA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Blueridge Post #164 American Legion and the V.F.W. of Hackettstown, NJ; Joyce Kilmer Council of the Knights of Columbus, Hackettstown, NJ and also served as an instructor in the Hunters Safety Course of Morris County, NJ. Frank was a member and Eucharistic Minister of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Schooley’s Mountain, NJ. Frank was also the supervisor of traffic control of the CCD program for Our Lady of the Mountain Church.
 
In addition to his loving wife, Ellin Jean, he is survived by two sons; Mark Uhl of Colorado Springs and Frank Uhl of Hackettstown, NJ. One daughter, Michele Thomas and her husband Mark of Hackettstown, NJ. One brother, Edmund L. Ulatowski of Kissimmee, FL; Two sisters, Sylvia Bera of Schooley’s Mtn. NJ & Marlene Saxman of Hellertown, PA. Grandchildren, Regina, Megan, Kelley, Paul, Colin, John, Tara, Hayley, Logan, Frank, Sean, Daniel, and Shannon. Great grandchildren; Garret, Abigail, Reilly and Issac. Mr. Uhl was predeceased by his beloved son, Paul Uhl in 2005.
 
A period of visitation will take place on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Schooley’s Mountain, NJ.
 
Interment will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Mountain cemetery with Military Honors.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please consider donating to House of the Good Shepherd, 798 Willow Grove St., Hackettstown, NJ in Frank’s name. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.cochranfunral.com.

You know our love and prayers are with all of you, and we will be especially present in spirit during the viewing hours and funeral Mass, and the committal service at the cemetery.
