George J. Vassiliou

George Vassiliou, 63, of Hackettstown NJ, Passed away Saturday November 15th 2014 after a three week battle with pneumonia at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. George was born November 3rd 1951 in Athens, Greece, the son of Yanni and Antula Vassiliou.

George was a hardworking passionate and proud man. He was the owner of his own business, Vassiliou Painting, which he has operated for over thirty years.

George is survived by his beloved Wife; Elizabeth, two daughters; Diana and Ashley, two sons; Yanni and John, one grandson; Nikos, son of Jennifer Russo and Yanni Vassiliou and his faithful canine companion Dudley.

George was a great husband, father and friend. So many words can be used to describe George and we are all truly blessed to have had him in our lives. 

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 4-8 PM with a service at 7:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ. Funeral Procession starts the following day, Wednesday, November 19 at 10:15 AM at Cochran Funeral Home. The burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows starting at 11:00 AM. Immediately following, we will all gather at Independence Firehouse located next to the cemetery. Those who would like to contribute can bring a dish of their choosing to share. Prepared dishes can be dropped off as early as 9:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of George.

George was a sweet and wonderful man. We are so sorry to hear of his death. Please know our hearts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow and loss.
