Walter S. Jaworski

 Walter Jaworski, age 91, Lyons, NJ, resided in Hackettstown, NJ briefly but considered himself a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Lyons Veterans Hospital.  Walter was born March 16, 1924 in Long Island City, NY. He is the son of the late Boleslaw and Czeslawa (Prusak) Jaworski.  He is preceded in death by his wife; Josephine (Ciernicki) Jaworski in 2002, and brother; Henry 

He proudly served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946.  Walter was employed by US Post Office, Brooklyn NY as a Postal Carrier and was active in establishing the union in the Post Office.  He was a member of the American Legion, Hackettstown, NJ Post #164, he was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his devoted family.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Paula Mann, Joanne Arvay and husband William, Veronica Westhoff and husband Henry "Pat", a son; Walter Jaworski and wife Pamela; a sister In law; Theresa Jaworski, 9 grandchildren; Alexa, Vanessa, Anthony, David, Peter, James, Christopher, Jonathan and Laura, a great grandchild; Natalie.

A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14 at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 265 W. Mill Street, Long Valley, NJ with Father Michael Drury officiating.  Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown following the mass.

Visiting hours will be Friday, November 13 from 4:00 - 8:00PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of Walter
