Carol D. Mahon, 54, of Green Township, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Ocober, 24, 2015 after a courageous battle against stage IV gastric cancer. Carol was born on July 4, 1961 in Staten Island, NY to the late Harriet and Robert Shelare, as the youngest of five girls. Several years later, she was adopted into the family of George and Mildred Olsen.
Carol will live on in the hearts of her seven children, husband, four sisters, three brothers, five grandchildren and all members of her extensive family. She will be remembered for her unconditionally loving nature, unwavering strength in the face of any challenge, and her complete faith in God's will for all. Carol was selfless and always put others needs ahead of her own. She had an abundance of love in her heart which was easily felt by all who have crossed her path.
Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, 10-28-15, from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. A celebration service of Carol’s life will begin at 7:00pm. The interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Dear Mike, Children, and Family, I am so very sorry for the loss of gentle and loving Carol. Carol is a unique and beautiful person; she was always kind, caring, and accepting to all. I am so sorry for your loss, and may Carol be at rest with our Lord. And, may you all be strong with the loss of this compassionate and giving lady; and always be blessed with many fond memories of Carol. My heart goes out to all of you.

God Took you away to ease your pain, yet he left us saddened .. but now the right thing to do is think about all the great memories we had with you. You were a beautiful person inside and out, and will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Carol
