Richard L. “Dick” Baldwin, age 87, of Great Meadows, NJ died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, N.J.. Richard was born July 17, 1925 in Beattystown, NJ. He is the son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Anderson) Baldwin.

He was Self employed and owned Richard Baldwin Trucking, Great Meadows, NJ.
Dick lived in Great Meadows, NJ all of his life. He was of the Methodist faith. Dick was the Superintendent of the Pequest Union Cemetery for 50 years, retiring 3 years ago. He was also a 50 year member of both the American Legion Blue Ridge Post # 164 and the Moose Lodge # 816, Hackettstown, NJ. He was a Charter member of the Tri-County Fire Department and he also enjoyed traveling. Dick proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Helen Irene (Terick) Baldwin, at home; a son Robert R. Howell, Stroudsburg, PA; two daughters, Helen & Joe Stanley, Morristown, NJ; Louise & Chris Thomas, Silverthorn, CO; a sister, MaryLouise & Jack Cornish, Stewartsville, NJ; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; predeceased by 2 brothers, George And John Baldwin; and a  daughter in law, Diana Howell.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.07840.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Selah Care Center, 443 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

The family would also like to acknowledge their gratitude to Mr. Ron Peterson of Liberty Township, NJ as he and Dick worked closely together for many years forging a strong and lasting friendship.

Heartfelt thanks also goes to Darlene, Mark and Joshua Tranquilli of Selah Care Center of Washington Township (Morris Co.) for their help and compassion during a most difficult time.
