George W. McCrone, 84 years old, of Visalia, California, died September 15, 2014 at Lynwood Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Visalia.

Born July 26, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ., George was the son of the late George & Katherine Walsh McCrone.  George was a graduate of  Dickenson High School, class of 1948 in Jersey City, NJ.  After his
Schooling, He proudly served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard.

As an adult, Mr. McCrone was employed in Telecommunications with the former Bell Atlantic being stationed in Hackensack, NJ for over 30 years. After his retirement, George and his beloved late wife, Esther Cella McCrone lived in Pompano, Fla and Whiting, NJ. then lastly, moving to California where he’s lived for the past 3 yrs..

Mr. McCrone is survived by two sons Robert McCrone and his wife, Jody, of Hanford, California and David M. McCrone and his wife, Donna of Long Valley, NJ. as well as  6 loving Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Two brothers, Robert & Richard McCrone. He was predeceased by a brother, James McCrone

Viewing hours will take place on Friday, 9-19-14 at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ., 07840 from 4 – 8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 9-20-14 at St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption, 305 High St., Hackettstown, NJ at 11am. Please meet at the Church.
